About this painting
A gold leaf column rises through the center of the canvas like a beam of light through deep water, dividing the composition into two worlds that are in quiet conversation with each other. To the left, a deep indigo mass anchors the painting in something weighted and interior and to the right, the atmosphere opens into luminous aqua and soft teal, airy and full of possibility. Gold circles of varying sizes drift across both halves, some solid and radiant, others mere outlines; planets, or wishes, or simply the way the mind reaches toward something it can't yet name. Loose gestural lines weave between them like thought itself, tracing invisible orbits.
At six feet tall, Take Me There has a physical presence that draws you in rather than asking you to stand back and observe. The title is an invitation, and the painting honors it. There is no anxiety here, only the particular warmth of anticipation. The gold doesn't dominate so much as illuminate, casting everything around it in a glow that feels earned rather than decorative. This is a painting about longing without loss, about movement toward rather than away, and it fills a room with exactly that energy.
