Journey

Artist Statement
"I am a Canadian artist working across landscape, figurative, and abstract forms. I'm drawn to memory, place, and that emotional residue that lingers after a moment has passed. My work combines the beauty of the world with formative experiences of it not always being safe, choosing to see goodness as an act of rebellion and healing.
I paint nature and figures as dynamic, alive, and emotionally charged rather than decorative. Gold moves through the work as an act of repair; a way of acknowledging fracture without hiding it. Mended seams left visible, these marks reflect that which was both broken and now restored.
The act of painting becomes meditative. Not only a means of personal mending, but the possibility that viewers might recognize their own fractures, and their own capacity for renewal."

Early Years
Shane's upbringing in a large family within a small farming community in the Saskatchewan prairies shaped his creative spirit. Despite the challenges his parents faced, and the absence of modern distractions like TV or radio, Shane found comfort and meaning in drawing. From a young age, he embraced his passion for art, allowing it to flourish and become a defining aspect of his life. This early dedication laid the foundation for his journey as an artist, one that continues to inspire today.
